La Terrasse espace d'art is pleased to present 'Ventre' [Womb] by Raphaël Dallaporta, an invitation to weave poetic links between prehistoric fragments and the technological heritage that projects man outside the cradle of the Earth.
The exhibition is curated by Rémi Labrusse, art historian and professor at the University Paris Nanterre.
Following methods of archaeological surveys, the artist proposes photographs, videos, texts and objects which are the traces of his own discoveries and immersive experiences. The semi-underground exhibition space of La Terrasse offers by analogy to the cave a matrix atmosphere, that which can constitute a place of art today. Raphaël Dallaporta was the first artist to win the Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc photography competition.
'Ventre' is conducted in collaboration with various institutions and research teams, such as the Space Observatory of the French National Center for Space Studies (Cnes), the National Archeology Museum of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, the composer Éric Cordier, the archeologist Miguel Biard, the art historian Rémi Labrusse and the writer Philippe Vasset.
We wish to thank the Space Observatory of the National Center for Space Studies (Cnes) and the National Archeology Museum of Saint-Germain-en-Laye for their kind assistance and the loan of objects for the exhibition.
Free admission. Tue-Fri 12-6 pm, Sat 3-6 pm.
